Resumo: O presente Trabalho mostra o resultado dos estudos sobre a tradução por meio da análise do processo de tradução de dois poemas de William Blake que formam pares antagônicos publicados em Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience (1789), ????????????????????????????????The Blossom???????????????????????????????? e ????????????????????????????????The Sick Rose????????????????????????????????, respectivamente, traduzidos por Paulo Vizioli (1993) e Renato Sutanna (2011). Buscamos fundamentar teoricamente o estudo sobre o processo da tradução literária da língua fonte para a língua alvo, principalmente, em Rosemary Arrojo (1986), Michael Oustinoff (2011), José Paulo Paes (1990) e Paul Ricoeur (2012). Sendo assim, o objetivo do trabalho é mostrar as produções dos tradutores para cada um dos poemas e compará-las enfatizando o fato de que há diversas formas e processos de tradução que o profissional pode optar e seguir para que sua tradução seja ????????????????????????????????bem-sucedida????????????????????????????????. Portanto, esta é uma pesquisa qualitativa ou bibliográfica. Concluiu-se, ao final das análises, que o ato de traduzir é um processo de escolhas difíceis que envolvem identificar as linearidades e singularidades que o texto literário possui, para traduzir os efeitos de sentidos que o constituem e que também exige o conhecimento afinco tanto da língua e da cultura de origem como a de chegada.
Abstract: The present work shows the results of the translation studies by analyzing the translation process of William Blake????????????????????????????????s two antagonist poems published in Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience (1789), The Blossom and The Sick Rose, respectively, translated by Paulo Vizioli (1993) and Renato Sutanna (2011). We have sought to base theoretically on the process of literary translation from the source language to the target language, mainly, on Rosemary Arrojo (1986), Michael Oustinoff (2011), José Paulo Paes (1990) and Paul Ricoeur (2012). Thus, the aim of the paper is to show the translators???????????????????????????????? productions for each of the poems and to compare them emphasizing the fact that there are several forms and processes of translation that the professional can choose and follow in order to having a successful translation. Therefore, this is a qualitative or bibliographical research. It was concluded, at the end of the analyzes, that the act of translating is a process of difficult choices that involve identifying the linearities and singularities that the literary text has, to translate the effects of the senses that constitute it and that it requires the knowledge both of the source language and culture as well as the target language.
